The share-market was quiet yesterday. In standard stocks New' Zealand Paper Mills sold at 24s 3d. Kauri Timbers (cont.) sold at 10s 2d, closing with sellers at 10s 3d, and buyers 10* Taupiri Coal Mines sold at 20s 3d and 20s 6d. ; In investment lines New Zealand Insurances sold at 80a, and Bank of New Zealands at £9 15s, more of the latter being wanted at that price, sellers asking- £9 16s. Auckland Gas debentures (5| per cent.) sold at £53 10s, and closed with buyers at £55. In mining lines Waihis sold at £8 19a Cd, and closed with sellers at £8 19s 6d, and buyers at £3 19s. Talismans sold at 53s 3d, and Waihi Grand Junction's at 245; Old Elauraki, from 2s 3d to 2s 6d to 2s 7c!: Waiotahis at 3s 4d«, Waitaugi at 2s lOd; New Sylvia at Is 7d; Thames, Is 3d; Tairua Golden Hills (6d paid), Is od; Golden Belta at 2s 7d; Halcyon at 6d; Scandinavian at 7d; Tokatoa at 4jd; Golden Cross and Kirikiri (cont.) at M. „
