THE DANNEVIRKE DEADLOCK.. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dannevirkk, Wednesday. Councillors have obtained Mr. Martin's opinion on the municipal deadlock. This was read at Jie meeting last night, but the Mayor contended that it favoured his tine of action on all points. The deadlock continues, and the Council will not pass the accounts. Notice has been given in the Chamber of Commerce to ask the Government to introduce legislation defining the power of the Mayor in order to prevent such incidents.
