INDIANS IN TRANSVAAL.
STRAINING THEIR LOYALTY.
NUMEROUS ARRESTS.
By Telegraph.—Frew Association— Copyright. London January 11. By the order of the Transvaal Government, 35 more Indians and 15 Chinese, including the principal leaders in the movement against compulsory registration, have been arrested in that colony.
The Indians of the Transvaal have written to Sir Henry Campbeli-Ban-nerman, Prime Minister, protesting against the indifference of the British Government, which is straining their loyalty.
Angry correspondence is proceeding in the Times regarding the unfairness of differential legislation applied to the Indians in tho Transvaal as compared with other colonies. It is held to be especially degrading that registration means the taking of fingerprints of both hands, the same system as is adopted with convicted criminals.
