MANGEP.E ROAD BOARD. The monthly meeting of the Mangero Road Board was held on Tuesday cseiting, when there wore present: Messrs. 3. Turk (chairman), A. Kenwood, and W. Knight. Finance: Tho clerk announced a credit balance in the general fund of £203 Is Bd, after which accounts amounting to £52 were submitted and passed for payment. Dog Registration : On tho motion of Mr. Knight, it, was decided to fix dog license fees as follows:— Cattle and sheep dogs, haif-a-crown; greyhounds, 10s; all other dogs, 5s each. Bullock's Road: The tender of W. Striblev to form Bullock's Road was accepted, 400vds of scoria at Is lOd per yard to be placed thereon, and the work to be completed within one month. Road Nomenclature: It was resolved'that a public meeting be held on January 28, in order to fix upon suitable names for the various road? in the district. Vehicular Licenses: It was decided that the clerk should take action against all persons coming within the operations of the vehicular bylaws and not,, taking out license?. The Bridge: The foreman reported that, although the bridge was in a bad way, repairs hail been effected, and the approaches were fairly safe now, two wires having: been placed along each side of the embankment. Fallen Trees: It was decided to ask Mr. Coghlan to remove certain fallen trees from the roadside near his property, as such were a source of danger to people driving past. HAIRDRESSERS' UNION. A general meeting of the members of the Master Hairdressers' Union of Auckland was held last evening'. The president, Mr. Eaglcton, occupied the chair. A JonnnitSeo was set up to secure .the required number of signatures for the uniform closing ol tobacconists' shops. The hours proposed are eight o'clock on four days of the, va %., 10 o'clock on the specified lute night, -nd cno o'clock on the half-holiday. It was reported that the increased charge of 6d for .shaving was being carried out in a satisfactory iloiiner, and it was decided to continue the same. It was proposed that a social evening or picnic should bo held at ?.n earlv date, and a sub-committee was appointed to malt* the necessary arrangements. * H.A.0.8.5. The annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the H.A.0.8. Society took place in tho Hibernian Hall on Tuesday. The election of officers resulted as follows: — President, Brother C. Mulholland; vicepresident. Brother Hubert Nerheny; secretary, Brother W. Kane; treasurer, Brother D. Flynn; warden, Brother C. Dolahunry; guardian, Brother W. Wright; sick visitor, Brother M. Carmody. The officers were installed bv P.P. Brother T. Pound.
