EGG-LAYING COMPETITIONS.

Cambridge, Tuesday. THE thirty-sixth week of the competition promoted by the North Island Egg-laying' Competition Association, Limited, concluded on Friday last. The number of eggs laid during the week was 1874. the total number laid since May 1 being 62,528. The highest layings for the week were:-—Waikato Central. Agricultural and Pastoral Association (white Leghorns), 33; T. B. Brookes (white Leghorns), 32; Miss Roberts (white Leghorns), 31; C. Hammond (white Plymouth Rocks), 31; Woodhouse and Marriner (white Leghorns). 31; Mrs. Rathbon '(white Leghorns), 30; G. A. Clark (white Leghorns). 30; D. A. Peek (white Leghorns), 30; S. H. Scott- (white Leghorns), 30: A. C. Shaw (brown "L,ep;horns), 30; Mr. Salt (white Leghorns). 30. The leading pens to date are as follows:—K. W. K. Fairclough (black Orpingtons). 966: Mrs. Harrison (white Leghorns). 959; E. Williamson (white Leghorns). 956: T. B. Broohe3 (white Leghorns), 934; Mrs. Bostock (brown Leghorns), 928; F. C. Hand (white Leghorns). 916; Miss Blackmore (white Leghorns). 903; W. G. Goodwin (white Leghorns), 906; Agricultural and Pastoral Association (white Leehorns), 903; Miss Roberts (white Leghorns). 888.

The best totals are as follows:— Dowthwaite, 830; Scott, 787; Knight, 763.
