Recently someone broke into the Te Puna. (Tauranga) schoolroom and removed a small wooden cross, used in'connection with the Church of England services. The cross was cut out from the altar cloth.
Lawrence (60 miles from Dunedin) butchers have raised the price of beef Id a pound all round, rump steak now being 8d for cash and 9d booked. There is some talk of urging the Government to establish a State butchery and bakery at Lawrence.
