The Washington officials have received information that the Japanese contemplate a systematic boycott of • American goods if the appeals for redress for the treatment of the Japanese in San Francisco are disregarded.

President Roosevelt denies that it is . his intention to transfer any battleships to the Pacific.
London, July 3.
The New York correspondent of the Times <Mr. G. W. Smalley) suggests that the denial by the President is the result of disagreement between the naval authorities respecting the wisdom of the movement.
