Wanganui, Wednesday. A.v old man named John Blair, aged 69, met his death this morning in peculiar circumstances. He was standing on a chair, pruning fruit trees, when the chair gave way, and he fell on the knife, severing his !jugular vein, and dying in a few minutes. Deceased leaves a widow and grown-up family. At the inquest this afternoon a verdict of accidental death was returned.
