The competitions under the auspices of the Auckland Wednesday Rugby Football Union were continued at Alexandra Park yesterday afternoon. After a well-contested game, the Grocers and Milkmen defeated the hitherto unbeaten Poet, Telegraph, and Railways team by 8 points to 3. [BY TELEGRATH.— OWN COIIKKSPOSDENT.] Waihi, Wednesday. The weekly meeting of the* Management Committee'of the Waihi Rugby Union was held bust evening, Mr. G. Peacock (chairman) presiding. A junior team was granted permission to play a fifteen from Katikati on the Tauranga bridge ground on July 20, and the District High School team was given permission to piny the Paeroa school learn on the same ground on. July 13. Mr. A. Searle was elected a member of the'.Management Committee to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. Robertshaw. The secretary was instructed to .write to the Tau-rang-a Union intimating that the representative team of the--latter-union-owed - Waihi 'a visit" and asking the union to suggest a date for a match. The committee decided to take into consideration the question of contributing towards the cost of sending a representative junior team to the Thames later in the season. , THE ASSOCIATION GAME. .
