EGG-LA YING COMPETITIONS.
The eighth week of the Cambridge egglaying competition concluded on Friday last. The number of eggs laid during the week was 1136, being an advance over any previous week of IS6. The total number laid since May 1 is 7561. ..Tho highest layings for the week were:—Mrs. Harrison, white Leghorns, 31; W. G. Goodwin, white Leghorns, 28: A. C. Jones, silver Wyandotte.?, 23; E. J. Williamson, white Leghorns, 28: F. C. Hand, white Leghorns, 28; Mrs. Hooker, white Leghorns, 23; K. W. Fairclough, black Orpingtons, 28: T. Rath white Leghorns." 27 ; E. S. Fearson, white Leghorns, 27; Mrs. Linzoy. black Orpingtons. 26. The leading ncna to date are:—K. W. Fairclough. 229; F. C. Hand, 212; Mrs. Harrison, 166; E. J. Williamsou, 154; K. W. Fairclough, 149; Mrs. Linzey, 149; Woodhouse and Marriner, 149; A. G. Schunke, 139; Mrs. Hooker, 124; Miss Blactkmore, 119; W. Ferguson, j 119. The weather during the week was very mixed.
