GENEROUS DONATIONS. THE KING'S REMARKS. By Telegraph.—Press Association.— Copyright London, July 1. Owing to the King's intimation that ho would prefer to open the Union Jack Club memorial free of debt, nearly £13,000 was subscribed in a few days. Mr. William Austin Horn, formerly of South Australia, .gave £5000. (Received July 3. 1.2 a.m.) London, July 2. The Union Jack Club cost £80,000. The King commended the generosity of subscribers, especially two, whose final large contributions cleared the debt on the building.
