LACROSSE.
A pleasant afternoon - was spent .in • the Domain last Saturday by those who participate in the admirable winter . game of lacrosse; Caretaker Yates , had the field in first-class order, and - this, combined with the.fino weather and the enthusiasm of the players,, went far to ensure a 1 good' day's sport. Sides were chosen' by Messrs. Graham and H. Walton, that of the first-named being victorious by nine ■ goals against six ,of Walton's combination. The play throughout was of a comparatively even class, and . the efficiency of some of tho beginners "amply showed that they had devoted a fair amount of their spare timo during , the, previous week to practise. ■Practise' will be held on the Domain Cricket Ground this afternoon, play to commence at half-past two p.m. ' \ v: /".'V- 1 " .• v
