[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] . . Waihi, Tuesday. At a meeting of the Presbyterian congregation it was decided that the stipend be £250, with a free manse. A selection committee, to act in conjunction with the Church session in selecting a successor to the Rev. J. L. Pattullo, was appointed as follows: — Messrs. Mcßae, Murray, Clark, Biick, Murdock, and Keller. 'Arrangements are being, made for the holding of a fancy dTess ball on a large scale in the near future. Visitors are expected from Paeroa, Thames, and other townsh'ps. An accident to the machinery at the Waihi Extended mine to-day - has caused temporary cessation of operations in the mine. Mr. Stewart, mine manager, left ifjj the Thames this afternoon to have repairs effected. The, repairs should be effected in time to allow of work being resumed by Friday, or : at the latest Saturday next. ':*.:..■
