TUAKAU. The Wairoa Rangers Football Club played the Tuakau team on the ground' of the local club on Saturday and the visitors won •by< 17 points to nil. The game was not played to a finish, as the captain of the Tuakau .; team sustained severe ; injuries to his leg • and the match ..was; abandoned. •: . „ WAIKATO RUGBY UNION. The annual general meeting of the delegates appointed by the various clubs constituting •■ the Waikato Rugby Union was. held at . Taupiri; on, the evening or the 9th inst., Mr. C. S. K. de Castro presiding. The report and balance-sheet; for the past year having been adopted, office-, bearers for the ensuing year were elected as follows :—Patron, Mr. W. F. Mossey, M.H.R. ; president, Mr. ;W. J. Ralph; vice-presidents. Captain Parker, Messrs. J. P. Bailey, E. T. : Bain, J. Cavanagh, L. B. Harris, jun., W. Lovell, J. Mohr, E. U. Ralph, J. Rock, and E. S. Wight. Mr. C. Lovell having declined to continue to act as secretary, Mr. C. K. S. de Castro: was appointed, the bonus attaching to the office being increased from two to' three guineas. As the result of evidence taken in regard to fighting' on the field ■ on the occasion of a match played atNgaruawahiaiast season, it was decided to exonerate Hall and to caution' Kirkwood, who was the aggressor.. _It was agreed to appoint a . gatekeeper for; all the union matches, to pay the referee, and to place the arrangements of all matches in the hands of Messrs. J. "P. Bailey, C. Lovell,. A. McKinnon, and the secretary. The subscription ; of" senior teams was fixed at 2 guineas. The question of the centre was deferred for future, consideration. - Mr. C. Lovell was elected delegate to the i W»tkato Central Union, his action in the past being upheld and his services to the local union heartily acknowledged. In response to the Tequest of the central body it: was. resolved that the future name of the union be the Lower, Waikato Rugby Union, and that the matches for the season .be commenced on Saturday, May 18, the ballot showing the following result:—May 18: ■ Ngaruawahia v. Rangiriri (at Rangiriri),Huntly v. Taupiri (at Taupiri). May 25: Ngaruawahia v. Taupiri (at Ngaruawahia), Huntly v. Rangiriri (at- Huntly). June 1: Taupiri v." : Rangiriri " (at Rangiriri), Ngaruawahia v.
