OTAHUHU ITEMS.
THE first of a ■'; series "of '.. socials promoted by the Otahuhu Tennis ; Club was held jon Friday, about 50 couples attending. The hall was decorated with bunting and ( coloured lanterns, and ;; presented (; an attractive appearance. .The; supper tables in the ■ anteroom were decorated ':, in , the colours of ■ the club, and were arranged by the Ladies' Committee, consisting of Misses Todd, McAnalty, Carson, ' and v Harper, ' the M.C.'s being Messrs. W. Sheppard and A. Waddell., - Invitations have been issued for the annual social in connection .' with Holy Trinity Church. The monthly meeting of the Band of Hope was held on Friday, and was very enjoyable. Mr. H. Andrew presided, and a well-arranged .programme of recitations, ;solos, etc., was gone through. A prominent feature among the items was a dialogue entitled, "The Band of Hope Meeting," in which a number of ■>. the members took part very creditably, thanks to the careful training they had received from Miss De Carteret. Other items were contributed by the Misses Discombe, Stringer, Hannigan, Harrison, and Sinclair, and Messrs. Stringer, Galloway. Harvey,- and Harrison. An address was given by Mr. Hust- • wick, and Mf. ; Haviil distributed -several certificates of membership. -. •
