■■', East TAMAKT. THE annual meeting of the East Tamaki ratepayers was held in the Board's office on Saturday. Mr. J. Goodfellow presided. The report and balance-sheet ; were read "and adopted. A meeting of the Road Board was held at the conclusion • of the V ratepayers' meeting. Owing to the absence of Mr. T. Ellison, a chairman was not elected, and it was proposed that in future the Board's financial year should end on June 50, instead of March 31, as at present. . , • '-' :: : PAPATOITOI. ~-/ The ' annual meeting of ratepayers In the Papatoitoi roau district was held on Tuesday. Mr. S. Hodge presided. Tne report and balance-sheet disclosed a satisfactory linancial position, a credit balance of over Jt;vwo standing to. the Board's account in the bank. Tne members of the Board tor the forthcoming year are: Messrs. W. McLaughlin, J. Wyllie, Jas. Bell, S. Hodge, and A. Madia. ; . . PUKEKUEA. The annual meeting of ratepayers of the Pukekura Road Board was held last Saturday. The statement of accounts showed a satisfactory credit balance. The chairman (Mr. R. Fisher referred to the various works now in course of progress, and outlined those in view. The Board was pleased that a start had been made with tne work of erecting the Cambridge high level bridge. In connection with the Board's contribution towards this work, the chairman proposed that the interest and sinking fund should be paid out of the ordinary revenue. This would obviate the necessity of collecting two rates, and thus be a convenience. Notwithstanding that the ensuing year would entail a heavy drain on their resources, he believed they would be able to carry on with a Id rate. Mr. R. Fisher was unanimously elected chairman for another, term, and Mr. Hugh Fitzgerald clerk and treasurer.
