Sir John Forrest, speaking at the Lord Mayor's .■ luncheon yesterday, advocated the proposing of a preferential trade scheme in definite terms,.aVto what was wanted, and what they hoped to get. So far the statesmen at Home and here had not propounded any v scheme. They said, "We , take the fence when we come it."' • -
