ATHLETIC NOTES.

FOOTBALL. " ' * ' "PUKEKOHE CLUB. THE annual meeting of the Pukekohe Football Club was held on April 23, in the Pukekohe Hotel. Mr. J. Kennelly occupied the chair. The reports of the past year showed that the season had been a very successful one, the club having won both the senior and junior championships. There was a credit balance of £21 17s 7d, and an additional £7 18s on the accident insurance fund. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. J. Eoulston, jun. (re-elected); secretary, Mr.. A. Waller; treasurer, Mr. J. A. Blake; captain, Mr. L. 'Bayly (re-elected); vice-captain, Mr. W. Findlaj ; delegates to the Franklin Union, Messrs. J. Kennelly, J. Eoulston. jun., and 11. Penman (re-elected). A large number of vicepresidents were elected. A.vote of thanks to Mr. W. The third annual general meeting of the Secondary Schools' Old Boys' Union was held in Endean's Buildings on Saturday. There was a good attendance, and the bal- ! ance-sheet showed the union to be in a satisfactory state as regards finance. The secretary reported that, after very great difficulty, suitable grounds had been secured for the carrying on. of the union's matches during the coming season. The banner presented to the union by Mr. A. C. Caughey, of Smith and Caughey, was on view, and greatly admired. A letter was received from- Messrs. Hemingway, Robertson, and Palethorpe, offering to present capß for competition in the junior grade.- The matches under the union will commence on Saturday week, May 18, and the draw for the matches will take place early next week. SUNDAY-SCHOOLS' EUGBY LEAGUE. The Sunday-schools' Rugby League competitions will be commenced to-morrow. The matches and teams are as follows: — • Surrey B v.
