SUDDEN DEATHS.

[BY TELEGRAPH.-— ASSOCIATION*."] Gisborkk, Wednesday. Mr. J. A. Harping, licensee of the Masonic Hotel, was walking in his hotel at half-past nine to-night, when he foil down and almost immediately expired. Death was due to 'the bursting of a blood vessel. The deceased leaves a widow and 10 children. Mr. Harding was born in Tipperary, in 1853, and came to New Zealand with his parents when 14 years of age. He was engaged as a sur- '. veyor for 14 years, but failing health made - ■ him take up the business of a storekeeper at Waipiro Bay, where lie resided for nine years. He then became connected with the.";?i timber trade, and afterwards took the Masonic Hotel. He had been in the '■' Borough Council since 1888, was a member of the Harbour Board and County Council for many years, and was treasurer of the hospital.
