GOVERNMENT TRAINING SHIP
, VISITED BY THE ADMIRAL. [BY telegraph.—own correspondent.] Wellington, Wednesday. The Post "reports. that yesterday morning Vice-Admiral Sir Wilmot H. Fawkes was given the opportunity of satisfying his desire to visit the New Zealand training ship Amokura. He was met on board by the Acting-Premier (the Hon. W. Hall-Jones), the Minister for Defence (the Hon. E. McNab), and Captain Hooper, R.N.R. The Admiral made a thorough inspection of the vessel and also of the boys, whom he briefly addressed.' One of the boys gave a demonstration of navigation with a model ship, and was complimented by the visitor on his proficiency in theoretical seamanship. The Admiral considers that the progress made with the boys in the short time that they have been under training is satisfactory. , t : . ' '.'.".' -..-. ■ ..■
