MINISTERS' MOVEMENTS.

Whangarei, Tuesday. The Hon. J. ~A* Millar, Minister for Marine, f arrived ; here this morning. He was met at the railway station by Mr. F. Mander, M'.H.R. ly- .the V Mayor v ; (Mr. H. ! Weaver), < Messrs. j McKenzie - (chairman of I the Harbour Board), 'Armstrong J (member of the Auckland Land Board), and others. After breakfast ' the party proceeded by launch to the cement works on Limestone Island, the journey being intended to give the Minister' an opportunity of inspecting those portions of the foreshore which the Harbour Board desire to acquire as an endowment. Two or three deputations waited on Mr. Millar in the afternoon, including native representatives, • who claimed the ' ownership of one part of the foreshore by reason of having used the same in times past as a landing-place and for camping purposes. Hanan on Thursday, and will be entertained at a banquet himself on Friday night. Mr. Millar returned from Whangarei late last night. He will receive, deputations and transact Departmental business to-day, and this evening he will be entertained at a banquet at the, Royal Hotel.
