PONSONBY CROQUET CLUB.
THE first annual meeting of the Ponaonhy Croquet Club was held: on Friday last, Mr. Bart in the chair. The secretary's report, which showed that tho first season of the club had been very successful, was read and adopted. ij~\ The treasurer's report ~: showed that the finances were in a happy condition. The chairman "'congratulated i the ladies ■ on the - strides made, by, the i club. He reierred to the club's indebtedness to Mr. and Mrs. Hodgson, and a ! hearty vote of thanks was accorded to them. Mr.-Murdoch McLean was elected president for c the ensuing year, and the following vice-presidents were elected :— Dr. Bedford, , Dr. Inglis, - Messrs. H. Brown, T. O. Brown, Alec'Burt, Jan., Jno. Court, Dickinson, Drummond, .A. J. Entrican, E. Gallangher, Gregory, S. D, Banna, O. Leys; T. T. Masefield, 0. R. Massey, W. McCutcheon, W. B. McDonald, CJ. Parr; J. R. Self, Ross, W. C. Somers, W. P. Stewart, and Wetherilt. Jlisß Wright was elected secretary, Mrs. Hanna treasurer; A committee, consisting of Meedames Burt, Drnmmond, Gallaugher, Keary, - and Miss- McDonald, was appointed, and a Match Committee comprising Messrs. Drnmmond, .Hanna, and Keary. Mrs. Hanna and Miss -"Wright - were > elected, delegates to. the association. Mesdames Drammond and Gallaugher ' were elected green superintendents; and Mr. Somers was re-elected auditor. The thanks of the club were accorded to donors of trophies for the past year, and Messrs. Burt. Hanna, Somers. and W. P. Stewart . offered trophies to be competed for during the next season. *
