A MEETING of the Fencourt Drainage Board wa« held on Friday last. Mr. R. Swayne presided. It was ■ agreed to erect a stop-gap in connection with the Fencourt drain, with the object of modifying the damage caused by flood-waters to Mr. Jamieson's property, the latter to contribute half the cost and bear all expenses of up-feeep. Mr. T. H. Kelly waited on the Board and asked that the completed portion- of his drainage contract be taken over and paid for, and that he be allowed to leave the unfinished portion toll the spring. The Board decided to consult their own and the Government engineer before giving a decision. The statement of the finances showed a hank credit balance of £160 10s 6d £452 due from the Government, and £94 13s 9d au.e from rates. ;,."\. : -> ' .-;:'■':''- •.''•';/-.'..•.,■
