RESOLUTION BY THE TRADES
COUNCIL.

Dunedin, Friday. The Trades and Labour Conference to-day resolved to support and endorse the progressive measures contained in Mr. McNab's Land Bill, " and in the interests of workers strongly urged an amendment of the limitation clause, reducing the limitation from £50,000 to £30,000 on the unimproved value, and of reserving to the State' the sole right of the purchase of the excess land at the owners' present valuation for taxation purposes, plus 10 per cent., such lands so resumed to be disposed of under rentable clause in the Bill, and the period for revaluation for all lands to be reduced from 66 to 22 years."
