London*. April 5. Thk Standard says that. Sir Alexander Swollen ham, late Governor of Jamaica, describes his letter to Admiral Davis as a private one, and as written in a spirit of pleasantry as from one friend to another. The Home Government peremptorily ordered him to apologise to Admiral Davis, and he apologised and resigned.
