London*. April 5. Mr. Ramsay Mat Donald. M.P.. speaking: at Sheffield yesterday, said that all the resolutions published in the press as "to come before the Colonial Conference, seemed to have been made in London, and prompted by London, not colonial opinion. During the election campaign in Australia Mr. Deakin hardly mentioned Imperial preference. If the colonies were so anxious that Great Britain should starve her people to give the colonies the benefits of the Home markets it was extraordinary that the subject did not figure in the Australian elections.
