London, April 4. The underwriters of the steamer Dakota, wrecked last month on the coast of Japan, are making arrangements for the salving of the afterpart of the vessel, as has been done in the case of the Suevic.
The. Dak ato belongs to the Great Northern Steamship Company, of the United States. She is 21,000 tons. She struck on a ledge of rock, and overran it, so that she tilted over until her forepart was submerged. Her plates are reported to have been ripped open for two-thirds of her length.
