[»I TELEGRAPH.—OWN 1 CORRESPONDENT.] f:* Coromandel, Tuesday. At a special meeting of the- Coromandel ' Rifle Volunteers, held last evening, ColourSergeant A. J. Gatland was elected to the • ■ office; of subaltern. • The annual harvest thanksgiving services were held in the Methodist Church on Sunday last. Appropriate sermons were preached by Mr. Evans, and at the evening service harvest hymns and anthems were rendered by the choir. The gifts of fruit and \vegetables were on view, and made a beautiful ■•■"• : show.' The i service was continued on Mon- • ; day evening, when" a short programme of . musical items was given. Anthems were rendered by the choir, a pianoforte duet by Misses .Goldswortby wand vApplegate was played, I Miss : Edgar.; sang a solo, a duet was sung by; Mrs. Molndoe and Miss \ Coombe, : ,,; ; •md a solo by Miss Applegate.
