Burt, sen., and his private secretary left for Dunedin yesterday, via Rotorua and the Wanganui River. Mr. P. O. Ross, late chief officer of the Haupiri, is to join the Taviuni in place of Mi. Captain Butler, and Firemen Brooks, Robinson, Butler, and. Freeman, of the Eden Terrace Volunteer Fire Brigade, leave for Christchurch by the Rotoiti to-day, to take part in the Exhibition fire brigade demonstration.

Captain W. C. Hill, Firemen J. Gilbert, J. Perrin, T. Gilbert, A. Bartlett, and Secretary C. A. Osborne, of the Onehunga Fire Brigade,; will leave by the Rotoiti today, bound for Christchurch, to take part in 3 the fire ; brigades' demonstration to be held there. - • ,
