COLLIERY DISASTER IN GERMANY.
425 MINERS ENTOMBED. FIRE IN THE WORKINGS. A SECOND EXPLOSION, By Telegraph.—Press Association.— Coi-yrigrlH. Berlin*, January 28. An explosion of firedamp took place yesterday in the Reiden coal mine in Rhenish Prussia.
In the explosion 164 miners Wc.e killed, and their bodies have been recovered. Seventeen miners escaped with serious injuries.
Owing to falls in the travelling ways 425 men are entombed.

The Reiden mine, at which the disaster has occurred, is the proper of the Govern'lent.
Firedamp - iiised an explosion at a depth of 2300 ft.
It is feared that the 425 men who art; entombed will be suffocated.
A fire if" now raging, and it is rendering the work of rescue almost impossible.
A second explosion of firedamp ha: occurred.
The President of the French Republic (M. Fallieries) has telegraphed to the Kaiser expressing his sympathy with the sufferers by' this terrible disaster.
EXPLOSION IN A FRENCH MINE.
Paris, January 28. •Several men have been killed in an explosion of firedamp in the Levin colliery, in the, department of Pas-de-Calais.
