THE KAISER'S BIRTHDAY.

Rome, January 27. The Pope ordered a '' Te Deum " to be sung in the Austrian Church at Rome to-day in the presence of Cardinal Merry del Val, in connection with the Kaiser's birthday. This is an unprecedented honour to be conferred on a Protestant.
The Kaiser was born on January 27, 1859, and is consequently 48 years of age. He lias been on the throne since June 15, 1888.
