SUDDEN DEATH IN A CAB.

Wellington, Monday. Mr. Thomas Erskine died suddenly in a cab on Saturday night while, being driven home from the Imperial Hotel with a friend. Mr. Erskine was a widower. An inquest was held to-day. The deceased, according to his nearest friend, had never been ill in his life, nor had he ever complained. The surgeon who made an autopsy found all the internal organs in an advanced stage of disease, the condition of the liver pointing to deceased having been a heavy drinker. Death had resulted from regurgitation on the right side of the heart. The jury returned a verdict in keening with tho medical testimony
