TAKAPUNA JOCKEY CLUB'S SUMMER MEETING. NOTES AND ANTICIPATIONS [bt phaeton.] Anniversary Day invariably finds a. big assemblage at the North Shore bent on. assisting at the Tahapuna. Jockey Club's Sum-, mer Meeting, and it will only require fine weather to-day to attract racegoers in largo numbers to the popular marine suburb, as. the acceptances received give every promise of providing a capital afternoon's sport. The Devonport Ferry Company will have their full fleet in commission to-day, and 1 that, of course, means that visitors can do- j pend upon being transported toand fro with rapidity and comfort.

The opening event of the programme is the Moana Handicap, in which Hikuai and Turbine may fill the leading positions. The Maiden Hurdle Race .should go to Soultfish.

Black and Gold and Miss Winnie may fight out the issue in the Suburban Handicap, and I will take them to como homo ia that order.

The issue in the T.J.O. Handicap is pretty open. Maybe Wnipuna will prove safest to trust, and Akarana may fill the role of run-ner-up. The Hobson Handicap may find Port J Light, home in the van and Wauehope run-ner-up. , The Steeplechase may go to Loch Fyne. The Anniversary Handicap may go to Certainty, and she may find her most troublesome, opponent in Landlock.
