WAIHI, Saturday. At a committee meeting of the Minors' and Workers' Union last night a letter from the Mine* Department regarding the report of the cage breaking away at the No. 4 shaft in the Waihi mine was discussed, and it was decided to write to the Department expressing dissatisfaction that an inquiry had not been made. With regard to the case of «Jas. Ogilvie v. the Waihi Cold Mining Company it was decided to make this a test case, and lo employ Mr. Miller, of the Thames, to represent the union. Accounts totalling £25 13s lOd were passed for payment.
