D.S.C. PICNIC.
The employees of the Direct Supply Company held their annual picnic on Saturday afternoon at Motutapu. where a very pleasant time was spent. There were about 200 present, and all took a keen interest in the sports programme, the events, 011 which resulted as follows:-.
D.S.C. Handicap: First beat, 100 yds: Sinclair 1. Riley 2, Ogolvie 3. Second heat: Eraser 1, McPeak 2, Jones 3. Final: Eraser 1, Riley 2, McPeak 3. Young Ladies' Race, 50vds: Miss Boon 1, Miss McQuillan 2. Siamese Race: Erase! and Dclauoy 1, Ogilive and McPeak 2. Married Men's Race: Sinclair 1, Riley 2, Bateman 3. Ladies' Race: Miss Taylor 1, Miss Browning 2. Combination Race: Eraser 1, McPeak 2. Steeplechase: Marks 1, Eraser 2. Messrs. Roney, Grace and Bateman officiated as judges, and Mr. C. Chappoll acted as starter. On the return journey a musical programme was rendered.
