Sir.— correspondent " Looking Back* wards ' say.-, he saw mv suggested system of street watering tried in Brighton, England. 3C years ago. and thai " it worked too well.'' I suppose he infers by this that those who had charge had not the water under proper control. 1 have made the request to tlio authorities that I might l*> permitted to give an exhibition of the new system—new, at least., as far as New Zealand is concerned— and I feel confident, (hat I ean demonstrate thai the distribution or the water is more economical, more effective, and fraught with less inconvenience to the public than either dust or electric sprinklers are rkel.T to be: and in addition U. this it would not only »*» possible to water the mam thoroughfares, as in the ease of the, said electric sprinklers, Put an* street, and not twice a day only, but as often as the need might arise. •loii.n- Gbauam, Patentee. 30, Jervois Road,
