SAYONARA WINS Till-: CUP. By Telegraph.—Press Association.— Melbourne, January 20. In the second raco for the cup, over a. 21-knots triangular course, Rawhiti's time allowance was 53secs. A strong northerly wind and bumpy sea prevailed. S;iyonara. lost 18sees. at the start. Kawhiti, having a lead of three miles, which Sayonara was constantly diminishing, and at the Gap was ahead half-a-milc. Further on one of Rawhiti's spinnakerguys carried away, and the boom lopped. Repairs were made, but the boom curried away almost immediately. Sayoiiara sailed grandly before the wind, showing the benefit of greater ballast. Sayonara was the first to jibe, briny; well ahead' on the wind. The local boat displayed all her best qualities, making good weather of it, while. Rawhiti laboured. Increasing her lead all the time, Sayonara crossed the line a winner by 7m. 7sec. after deducting the time allowance.
