Wellington , Saturday. Th>: Hon. Mr. Kirkpatrick, Chief Secretary for South Australia, arrived from Sydney by the Monowai. Mr. Kirkpatriek is here primarily for the purpose of encouraging the importation of South Australian grapes, by the removal of the disabilities at present imposed by the New Zealand Government. When in Christ-church he will interview the Hon. I!. MeNab, and will also take the opportunity of placing the case for South' Australia before the Premier, if Mr. Kirkpatrick is successful in his mission he is confident that grapes grown in South Alls tralia can be sold in New Zealand a! 6d per pound.
