MINISTERS' MOVEMENTS.
The Hon. J. A. Millar, Minister for Labour and Marine, visited Avondale on Monday, and inspected the. hamlets there. He was accompanied by the Commissioner for Crown Lands (Mr. J. A. Mackenzie), and Mr. J. Bollard, M.H.R. The Minister found that the settlers generally were satisfied with the conditions of their holdings. On Monday afternoon the Minister, with a view to obtaining practical experience in/ the working and sailing capacities of scows, proceeded on a- trip in the scow Corona,, round Rangitoto and out towards Tiri,» Spending;, about , four -hours on the scow. ;: .The Minister spent a quiet day yesterday, no "business of a public character being transacted. The Hon. G. Fowlds, Minister for Education and Public Health, also spent a quiet day at bis residence yesterday. Tomorrow Mr. Fowlds will pay a visit to the Waitomo caves, returning on Saturday. Dr. Findlay, Attorney-General, is expected to arrive in Auckland on Saturday, and will leave - for the South again on Wednesday,
