Christchctrch, Sunday. The twenty-fifth annual report of the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company congratulates shareholders ou a very substantial increase in the company's business. Afteß having distributed amongst freezing" clients in I September a. ; rebate .on their summer freezing there remains a credit to profit and loss account for the year amounting to £24,941. Of this the sum of £6596 was distributed in June by way of an interim dividend, leaving £18,345 now to be dealt with. This the directors propose to allot as follows:—Payment of a further 3 per cent, on the preference shares (making 6 per cent, for the year), £2250; payment of a further •4 per cent, on the ordinary shares (making 8 per cent, for the year), £4347; transfer to reserve fund account, £5000; leaving £6747 to be .carried forward. The quantities of stock dealt with during the yeai were: At Belfast, 415,814 head; at Fairfield (Ashburton), 347,588 head; at Parcora (Timaru), 293,483 head— total of 1,056,885 head. This shows an increase of 158,070 head at Belfast, 52,743 at -Fairfield, and 154.061 head at Pareora— total increase of 364,874 head, as compared with the figures of the previous year, or nearly 53 per cent. This is the first time in the history of the company that the figures have passed the millions.
