EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.
The' second meeting of gentlemen interested in' the proposed egg-laying competition was held at Cambridge on Monday evening (writes our correspondent). , There was a large attendance. Mr. E. Veale presided, and reported that already 105 shares out of the 300 required had • been taken up. The movement was meeting with a favourable reception on the part of. the public. It was decided to register the company as "The North Island Egg-laying Competition Association, Ltd." The following provisional directors were appointed : — Messrs. K. W. K. Faircliff (Hamilton), J. B. Tonar (Auckland), H. Carter, E. Veale, J. Rathbon, ,R. T. Tudehope, and G. A. Clark, jun. The Bank of' New Zealand was appointed the company's bankers, and Messrs. Buckland and. Buckland solicitors to tho company. A statement of estimated revenue and expenditure was submitted, the income being set down at £530 per annum, the principal item being £300 from the sale of eggs. 'Mr. Hartly. (clerk to the Cambridge Domain Board) said ho was .sure the Board would meet the company very liberally in regard to a site. „".->". . ■ •~ ■. :."••--
