HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE

Another large and enthusiastic audience was last night attracted to His Majesty's Theatre, and heartily endorsed by vociferous applause the popular verdict upon the first production in New Zealand by Meters. MacMahon's powerful company of the highly interesting play, "The Executioner's Daughter." The production is magnificently staged, find powerfully acted by the large and highly capable company of artistes, to the manifest gratification of the audience. It will bo repeated to-night and to-morrow evening only, giving way on Thursday even-, ing to vet another dramatic novelty, " The' Price of Sin, a play which is achieving an extraordinarily successful run in the big cities of England and America. OPERA HOUSE. The new programme at the Opera House was again well received by a large house last night. Clara Keating was highly successful in both the first and second parts. Stella Yeraea was loudly encored for her ballad singing, and the two Starrs sang and danced gracefully. Monaghan and Sheehun, appeared for the last time in their musical act. Loydall and Berry caused great laughter with their comedietta, ''Acting on the Brain." Curl Collier, Aubrey Douglas, and tho Driscolk also appeared. * The Warwick Bioscope showed a number of moving pictures, including "The Lost Child." The Powers Brothers made their first appearance, and proved themselves to be remarkable performers on the tight-wire, and clever head-to-head balancers. * TENNIS CLUB EUCHRE PARTY. The Onehungft Tennis Club held the last social and euclne party of the season in the Public Hall last night. About 60 tables had been provided, and there were a large number of members and friends present, quite a number having come from Auckland for the evening. When the games wfere finished the prizes were awarded, and an adjournment was made to the fiuppcrroom. A very enjoyable evening was spent.

Great, interest, is being manifested in the forthcoming song recitals, in the Thames and Waikato districts, of Mrs. Howie. The programme is of an attractive nature.' She opens in Paeroa to-morrow night.
