Ttie Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company has received the following cable re the frozen incut market: —" Canterbury mutton, 3jjd; Napier, Wellington, and North Island, 3Jd. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Wyandotte Club (North Island) last night members disapproved of and decided to direct the attention of the North Island Poultry Association' to the growing practice with judges of poultry of exhibiting poultry at shows where they are officiating. It was decided to hold the club's second competition, in Wellington in 1907. Mr. G. R. Hutchinson (Auckland) was reelected president. In future the annual meeting will be held where the club's annua;! competition takes place. Mares, as a rule, become very shy as their period of parturition approaches. This is especially the case with young mares, and as a result it is. a good plan when the time for foaling draws nigh to shut up such mares in a quiet house by themselves for some days. The less disturbance mares are subjected to at this particular stage the better. With old stagers it is a matter of comparative indifference how they are treated, but with young mares the observance of a little caution in this connection will invariably be found attended with good results..
