FATHER GAPON.
REPORTED HANGED BY REFORMERS. SUSPECTED OF BEING A SPY. By Telegraph.-Pres3 Association.—Copyright. St. Petersburg, April 23. It is reported that Father Gapon has been hanged by four labourers who are revolutionists, and who had overheard him trying to persuade a revolutionary leader to become a spy like himself.' Father (iapon was the leader of the popular movement in St. Petersburg in January of last year, which culminated in the massacre of "Vladimir's Day." He escaped, but- has revisited Russia two or three times, lie has been under suspicion as a spy for some time past, and recently issued a letter to the press in which he sought, to defend himself from the allegation that lie was a traitor to the cause of reform.
