THE SELWYN SETTLEMENT.
The applications for sections in the Sel wyn Settlement do not, by any means total as many as was anticipated. Severa sections and three grazing runs found ni applicants at all. For gracing ran 66, em bracing 1747 acres, there were three ap plicants, and for grazing rati 105, con taining 4945 acres, two applicants. 0 the farm lots, section 63; containing 87( acres, found only one applicant, and then was only one application for each of tin following lots: —Section 61, Block XV. 585 acres; section 72, Block XVI., 83< acres ; the village sections 90 (two acres and 89 (one acre), and section 5, Block V. at the back of the township allotments 12 acres. Section 68, in Block XV., o 916 acres, the homestead block, attract ed four applicants, and there were threfor section 84, in Block 111., fronting oi the Tirau village road, and containing 56, ;teres, and three for section 47, Block IV. containing 579 acres, and fronting Roto rua Road. The four farm lots beliirw Putaruru village had two applicants each Applicants will be examined before til Land Board to-day, and sections unappliei for are now open.
