THE EARLY-CLOSING LAW,
A WELLINGTON CASE
[.BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.]
Wellington, Tuesday. The stipendiary magistrate to-day dismissed a, case against Ross, a tobacconist, charged with keeping his premises open in breach of the early-closing regulation for the tobacconists and hairdressers of the city. The magistrate held that the requisition upon which the hours of closing here are based applied only to shops in which the combined business of hairdresser and tobacconist is earned on, not to tobacconists alone.
Mr. Seddon says that the above judgment will be considered by the Crown law officers.
