POLICE COURT NEWS.
CHARGE OF DAMAGING PROPERTY. Annie En right was charged, before Mr. C. C. Kettle, S.M.. at the Police Court yesterday, wit!) wilfully damaging two windows and other goods, valued at £5, the property of Phyllis Parietich. Mr. Brookfield appeared for the defendant, and applied for a remand until Friday, stating that the defendant had only hern served with the summons on Tuesday night. A remand was granted until Saturday. ALLEGED THEFT FROM A DWELLING. Thomas Martin was charged, on remand, with stealing from the dwelling of a Rolo--111 a boardinghouse-keeper named Williams, a return half-second-class railway ticket, valued at 10s 6d, the property of Margaret iStubbs. also with stealing from the same dwelling £10. the property of Marian Bell, and. further, with stealing from the same house £3 10s, the moneys-of Ellen Jane North. Chief-Detective Marsaek prosecuted. and applied for the accused to be remanded to Rotorua. and appear there on Friday next. The remand was granted. DRUNKENNESS. James Carrigan. who was charged with drunkenness (a second otl'eme). and remanded for a week for medical treatment, was convicted and discharged on paying costs 10s 6d. One first oflendei was lined 5s and costs for a similar offence.
