HOW A STRIKE WAS STOPPED. By Telegraph Press Association Copyright. (Received December 14, 10.14 p.m.) Singapore, December 14. In connection with the American boycott by the Chinese, the dockhands at Singapore yesterday refused to repair a steamer belonging to the Standard Oil Company. Mr. Barnes, the protector of the Chinese, threatened to deport all the Chinese who refused to work, and the men at once returned to their duties.
