COMMENTS OF LONDON NEWS- " PAPERS. [BY TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] Wellington - , Thursday, According to London newspapers, the victory of the Seddou Government was regarded as a foregone, conclusion. The Morning Post says that within the colony the constructive statesman always gets the better"of the destructive politician. New- Zealand has had prosperity under the Seddon regime, and, no doubt, ho has the heart of his little nation.. The Standard says that when Mr. Seddon first took office it was predicted by those who had not fathomed his remarkable genius that he would have a short existence, but, on the contrary, every general election adds to his supporters. The Westminster Gazette declares that Mr. Seddon's record is certainly remarkable. The Daily Chronicle states that Mr. Seddon doubtless will have new experiments to show. Dunedin-, Thursday. The official figures : for the Taieri election are:—Reid (O.), 2320; Marshall (G.), 1784 informal, 40. Invercargill, Thursday. The official count for the Invercargill election poll gives tho following figures: — Hanan (GO, 3772; Raymond (p.), 1840; Morris (G.), £62; informal, 106.
