THE PORT OF HULL.
DIRECT TRADE WITH AUSTRALIA., By Telegraph.—PresK Association.—Copyright. London, December 12. Arrangements have been made according to which the steamer Port Caroline will sail from Hull to Australia on January 12, via London, thus opening direct trade with the north-eastern port. I Recently the Agents-General visited Hull to inspect facilities there for the distribution of Australian produce. They expressed themselves as well -pleased with the accommodation for shipping, the provision for dealing with frozen produce and the prospects of a good market. The Port Caroline is the first steamer to make the experiment of using- Hull as her starting port and her port of destination on return. Sho is a new steel steamer of 4706 tons. Tjio steamer loaded at various Australian ports for the Continent and the United Kingdom, and left Albany for Dunkirk on November 15 last,
